About

Bobby Guions
Producer/Director

Bobby Guions was born in Newark, New Jersey, the son of African American parents Rose, a nurse, and Fred Guions, a bus driver. His interest in film began at age 12, when he started to write short scripts. While attending Arts High School in Newark, New Jersey, he began to practice art and photography and develop a unique film shooting style. He created interesting images through painting, winning several art awards and even having a painting submitted into the Newark Museum of Art.

After leaving high school, Guions started his first film feature entitled Moving Target, which was distributed in North America. He continued with another successful film entitled Dinner with an Assassin. The film received much Internet praise, with Kungfucinema.com giving it a 4 star review. Also, the film was a winner at The Houston Black Film Festival and Atlanta Spaghetti Junction Film Festival and won the Paul Robeson Award at the Newark Black film Festival. Guions' trademark style continues to emerge: being able to tell intense stories and film well executed action sequences.
